Episode Title: Crosshairs
Originally Aired November 17th 2017

It is all downhill from here as we have officially crossed the half way mark in season 1. The bad guys are still confident that they have the high ground even though they no how dangerous them men hunting them are. The good guys now know almost everyone involved in destroying their lives, finally providing an end to their hit list. For those of us who are already dreading the end of the season we can rest easy because our favorite disciplinarian will be getting a second season. Continue reading The Punisher S:01 E:07

Episode Title: The Judas Goat
Originally Aired: November 17th 2017

Episode six was a lesson in dichotomies it as simultaneously the sweetest and most brutal episode of the series so far. Frank’s delusions and flashbacks to the death of his family receive an unexpected uptick in viciousness. The tale of a soldier struggling with his return to life as a civilian took a dramatic and fatal turn. A real life story of military training that is every PETA members worst nightmare and a betrayal round out the depressing side of the episode. Continue reading The Punisher S:01 E:06

The Punisher S:01 E:05

We have made it to episode five and we are finally starting to get some answers to some questions big and small. We learn the identity of the person that recorded the video that lead to the death of Frank’s family and the attempted murder of Lieberman.  We learned that Madina has sex just like you would expect her too, she never surrenders control anywhere. We learned what was really behind Project Cerberus and what lead to the death of Madani’s partner. I would like to say it was something more interesting than it is but it is a very real-world reason. Episode Title: Resupply
Originally Aired: November 17th 2017

The fourth episode of The Punisher gave us our third director in Kari Skogland who is known for directing episodes of Amazon’s The Handmaidens Tale and Showtime’s The Borgias. I think she decided to focus a little more on the characters and less on the action than her predecessors. Continue reading The Punisher S:01 E:04

Episode Title: Kandahar
Originally Aired: November 17th 2017

This is the first of two episodes directed by Andy Goddard and because of a great show runner in Steve Lightfoot the differences from episode two to three were very minimal. It was hard to tell if the differences in the way action was portrayed was because of the way it was shot or just the story around it. Most of the episode takes place in Afghanistan, while Frank was still a soldier and not a revenge seeking missile, so it was a very different kind of combat for us to see on screen. Episode Title: Two Dead Men
Originally Aired: November 17th 2017

A tale of two dead men is not only the title of this episode, it is a word puzzle Frank shares with his children and the main components to this episode.  This is the second episode directed by Tom Shankland so it is very similar to last week’s episode in look and performance from the actors. Episode Title: The Defenders
Originally Aired August 18th 2017

We have finally reached the climax of what Netflix and Marvel have been working for these last two plus years. Four heroes with five combined seasons have been building to this moment where our heroes take on the ultimate weapon of the Hand. After the events of last week, it comes down to two races, can the Hand get the substance out before the rest of the team shows up to rescue Danny and put an end to the Hand and their evil plans for New York. Episode Title: Fish in the Jailhouse
Originally Aired: August 18th 2017

Danny is on his own against Elektra and the rest of the Hand leaders. Matt, Luke and Jessica are stuck in the police station at best listed as witnesses at worst, murder suspects. Will they be able to clear their name in time to rescue Danny and stop the Hand’s plan of destroying New York? Continue reading The Defenders S:01 E:07

Episode Title: Ashes, Ashes
Originally Aired: August 18th 2017

We are now three quarters of the way through the season and the Hand has everything they need to complete their plan, all it has cost them is two of the five fingers. With the changing leadership landscape will the Hand easily be defeated or will they be more dangerous than ever as their desperation ramps up. You would think with the Defenders out numbering the Hand leaders 4 to 3 that it would be to their advantage, unfortunately the only action in this week’s episode was hero vs hero.
