Episode Title: On Fins and Needles
Original Airdate: May 5, 1994

Something has been brewing for some time in the Power Rangers universe that finally comes out in this week’s episode. From the beginning, Jason has always been the leader of the group. But then, part way into the season, there came this hotshot named Tommy. The green boy not only is the superior martial artist, but he’s also a ladies man. Kimberly’s been making goo-goo eyes at him for half the season now. So, who will be the true leader of the group? Let’s see what happens in today’s episode, On Fins and Needles. Episode Title: Penguin’s Clean Sweep
Original Airdate: January 25, 1968

As we inch closer to the end of this series, we will begin to see the final appearances of some of the iconic guest villains this show is known for. Today we bid farewell to that waddling criminal the Penguin, as portrayed by Burgess Meredith. He’s still got one more caper up his sleeve, though, in today’s episode, Penguin’s Clean Sweep. Episode Title: Second Chance
Original Airdate: May 4, 1994

Sports were never my thing when I was a kid. I never have been very athletic. The one organized sport I did play for a time was soccer. I usually played a midfield position. I wasn’t very good, but I could kick the ball forward if it came to me, and that was pretty much my job. Well, it seems that soccer is pretty popular in Angel Grove, too. In today’s episode of Power Rangers our heroes have to kick around a strange giant armadillo, soccer style in Second Chance. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:55

Episode Title: Nora Clavicle and the Ladies Crime Club
Original Airdate: January 18, 1968

Throughout its three season run, Batman was always a very harmless show. It never really dealt with hot topics, it was just good natured fun. Which brings us to today’s episode which, unlikely as it seems, is sure to offend a number of people. Get ready to see what happens when the women’s movement comes to Gotham in Nora Clavicle and the Ladies Crime Club. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:19

Episode Title: Trick or Treat
Original Airdate: May 3, 1994

It may be Christmas time, but today’s episode of Power Rangers has a bit of a Halloween theme to it. Strangely, though, it originally aired in May, not October. It’s a strange adventure that somehow combines a pumpkin monster, a cheesy game show, and some of the worst rap you’ve ever heard. Get ready for Trick or Treat. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:54

Episode Title: Louie’s Lethal Lilac Time
Original Airdate: January 11, 1968

In this week’s episode, we see the return of a villain we were first introduced to earlier this season, Louie the Lilac as played by Milton Berle. I wasn’t all that thrilled with his first appearance, I gotta admit. Let’s see if things end up any better in this second appearance, Louie’s Lethal Lilac Time. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:18

Episode Title: Fowl Play
Original Airdate: May 2, 1994

Shows like Power Rangers are what filled the kids block programming schedules in the 90’s, but when I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s, most of that time was filled with classic cartoons. Stuff like Popeye, Tom and Jerry, and Woody Woodpecker. Well, on this visit to Angel Grove we get a very different type of woodpecker than the classic cartoon character. It’s time for some monster bird action in Fowl Play. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:53

Episode Title: The Joke’s on Catwoman
Original Airdate: January 4, 1968

In our last episode we had a less than satisfying team up between Cesar Romero’s Joker and Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman. It was a convoluted plot involving stealing a pair of pajamas and a baby’s cradle to learn the location of some gun powder that’s been hidden for 200 years. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Let’s see if things get any better in part two of the story, the first episode to air in 1968, The Joke’s on Catwoman. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:17

Episode Title: Two Heads are Better than One
Original Airdate: April 29, 1994

Rita and her gang have come up with some pretty weird monsters over the course of this first Power Rangers season. Some of the creatures have at least been based off of some pretty ferocious real world animals. Every now and then, though we get one that seems to have come out of some insane acid trip. Case in point: a two-headed parrot. That’s what we get this week in Two Heads are Better than One. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:52

Episode Title: The Funny Feline Felonies
Original Airdate: December 28, 1967

Well, on our last few episodes we’ve had to deal with the bizarre team up of Olga and Egghead. I’m all for seeing some of the bad guys joining forces, but that was just kind of weird. This week we have another team-up, but this time it involves two much more iconic villains. Get ready for Joker and Catwoman working together in The Funny Feline Felonies.
