Agent Carter S:02 E: 1 & 2

Episode Titles:
E1: The Lady in the Lake
E2: A View in the Dark

Originally Aired: January 19th 2016

Welcome back to post World War II America and the world of our favorite Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) agent Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell). Tonight was the 2 hour premier for the second season of ABC’s Agent Carter, it will continue to air every Tuesday night for the next 9 weeks leading to the return of Agents of Shield from its winter break. There is a kind of poetry to the two shows being linked together because they seem to be following the same path. Season one has some good moments but is mostly unmet potential, and season two sees an increase in action and improved story lines. I enjoyed season one of Agent Carter but of the 10 episodes that have been televised, tonight’s episodes are first and second. There is so much that is new, things that are improved, but it is undeniably the same Agent Carter. The writers and producers took a tarnished piece of silver and shined it up really nice.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 – Wrap Up

Season 2 really has been something of a mixed bag for the show, as here having setup its premise with the brief 13 episode first season here really stepped things up and made the most of having a full 22 episode run as we start to see the Scoobie members starting to settle into their roles, while others powers start to awaken.

iZombie S2

Episode Title: Method Head
Original Airdate: 1-12-16

My favorite zombie is back after the holidays. Things weren’t looking too good for our undead heroine before the break. Clive dropped her from partner duties and she dumped Major for not being able to accept her dietary side effects, though for exes, she and Major really get along very well, almost too well to believe at times.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep: 21-22

“In case the curse does not succeed, this is my lucky stake. I have killed many vampires with it. I call it Mr. Pointy.” – Kendra

So here we are the end of Season 2 and seems that its suddenly dawned on the writers that our vampire trio of Spike, Drusilla and Angel have yet to come up with an end game for their schemes something which they now set out to correct with this two part finale. This week I’ll be looking at this double as one episode seeing how here in the UK they showed both parts together. At the same time this episode really highlighted just how popular the show had become as they tried to sell this episode as a direct to video special with that classic “Never Seen On TV” tag, which was true only because the episode hadn’t aired yet!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep:20

“I think it’s safe to say we found Sean. He was skinless dipping in the pool.” – Cordelia

It would be just typical that we would end this year one episode away from the season finale and hence meaning that we can’t kick off 2016 with a new season, but alas this is still a great episode to end the year on, especially after the ho-hum previous episode.

This week Buffy and the Scoobies are forced to investigate a series of attacks on the school swim team by a mysterious sea monster which is leaving them as skinned husks. However the link between the team and these attacks might be closer than  first seems.

TV Good Sleep Bad #5

Good Sleep Bad: A monthly podcast in which Elwood and Lackey (The Nightmare Gallery) delve into cult and obscure TV shows from Superheroes to the Outer Limits they watch it all.

Christmas is here yet again and this year Elwood and Lackey are spending a more controversial Christmas with the foul kids of “South Park” as they revisit two the show’s Christmas episodes.

So get prepared for Satan worship forest animals, talking poo and a whole heap of bad language as it goes without saying that we advise you not to listen if easily offended.

All this plus a look back at favourite Christmas specials, getting nostalgic about early TV viewing experiences and looking back at the UK’s Alt. Comedy scene of the 80’s plus much more!!

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep:19

“Something weird is going on. Isn’t that our school motto?” – Xander

Well it had to happen eventually and this week it has as we get a pretty ho-hum episode as Buffy and the Scoobies find themselves having to deal with a stream of ghostly happenings at Sunnydale high, while Giles is convinced that it’s the spirit of Jenny, Buffy is left feeling something else is responsible.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold S02 E15

Episode Title: “The Last Patrol!”

Original Air Date: October 8, 2010

So now we get to find out what direction the show is planning to go in with the Starro saga concluded. It looks like we are going to be treated to an adventure featuring the off kilter team known as the Doom Patrol. Will this lesser known group of oddballs be a treat like the Metal Men, or will they fall a little flat like the Challengers of the Unknown? Read on to find out.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep:18

Episode Title: Killed By Death

Original Air Date: March 3, 1998

“Your mom’s tryin’ to Bogart the cheesy chips. What’s that all about?” – Xander

While we have pretty much at this point grown used to Buffy playing the fearless and seemingly invincible slayer, this week things are mixed up when Buffy is struck down with the flu, which soon leads to having to confront her fear of hospitals when she has to be admitted. Things of course take a turn from the strange when she discovers that a monstrous presence in the hospital is preying on the sick children.
