Episode Title: He Blinded Me with Science
Original Airdate: 3-22-16

And, after yet another hiatus, we’re back. This week Liv and Clive investigate the murder of a scientist who was burned alive. She had been a researcher for a drug company with results that went very awry for one poor test subject, which leaves a few suspects, like the scarred test subject and the deceased’s former partner. But during all the questioning, Liv has a vision of the scientist working for none other than Van du Clark at Max Rager. Liv goes under cover to learn more, but gets caught by VDC when she tries to sneak into the super secret basement lab. However, she has another vision of a full-on zombie, which leads her to believe that Max Rager is experimenting on the undead in said super secret basement lab (which is totally true).

Miss me? Last week was full of road tripping and empty of zombie apocalypses, not to mention computer access, so here’s a double header for you.

Episode Title: The Same Boat
Original Airdate: 3-13-16

At the end of “Not Yet Tomorrow,” when Rick & Co. thought they’d taken out all of the Saviors, they found out that Carol and Maggie were taken hostage by they enemy. So this episode focused on the two as hostages. They were taken to a facility several miles from the base compound and held as Rick negotiated with the woman in charge, Paula, for their release. Carol feigned being weak again, which aided in their eventual escape. Other than that, there was a lot of sitting around and talking, some close calls with Walkers, then escape as Carol and Maggie killed another eight or so Saviors and made it out. The entire scenario took its toll on the two ladies mentally.

Daredevil S:02 E:01

Episode Title: Bang
Originally Aired: 3/18/2016

As temperatures climb tempers flare and as the title implies the new season of Daredevil starts with a bang. Season 2 picks up a short but indeterminate amount of time after the events of season 1, new cartels, mobs and criminals of every sort are out to fill the void left behind by the Kingpin and his associates. The city of Hell’s Kitchen is in the grips of a heat wave, things are about to boil over and Daredevil may not be the man for the job this time around.

Episode Title: Lovers Walk

Original Air Date: November 24, 1998

“You’re not friends. You’ll never be friends. You’ll be in love till it kills you both. You’ll fight, and you’ll shag, and you’ll hate each other till it makes you quiver but you’ll never be friends. Love isn’t brains, children, it’s blood; blood screaming inside you to work its will. I may be love’s bitch, but at least I’m man enough to admit it.” – Spike

For some reason I’d disregarded this week’s episode as being a very minor and one which served to wrap up the secret relationship between Willow and Xander. At the same time Spike also makes his sole return to Sunnydale for this season, having been dumped by Drusilla and leaving him a heartbroken wreck determined to win her back with the help of Willow’s magical abilities.

Legends of Tomorrow S:01 E:06

Episode Title: Star City 2046
Original Airdate: 2-25-16

It’s finally time to get our first look at the future aside from the very beginning of the pilot episode, and not only that, but there’s no sign of Vandal Savage in the episode which is a first. Instead, their little unexpected romp into the future takes them to a Star City where things have become a bit of a dystopia to put it mildly. This is also the first episode where there isn’t any significant team strengthening, at least not in any major way. And in fact, there’s the first signs of a team that won’t last through the entire season, something that I may have heard has already happened in currently aired shows. But I’ll get to that when I get to that.

Episode Title: Revelations

Original Air Date: November 17, 1998

“The fact is, there is talk in the Council that you have become a bit too …. American.” – Gwendolyn Post

Time for another of my favourite episodes whose appearance in the season really reminds me of how many great episodes this season has. It’s also one of the early Faith-centric episodes as she gains a new watcher in the form of Gwendolyn Post who also brings with her a warning of the demon Lagos who has also arrived in Sunnydale looking for the Glove of Myneghon.

Agent Carter Season 2 Recap

Season two of Agent Carter started out about as well as anyone could have asked. Unfortunately after six episodes into the ten episode season things began to fall apart. If the show returns for a third season I hope they move on from all of the writers responsible for the final four episodes except for Brant Englestein who also wrote the season premier. Gotham S:02 E:13

Episode Title: A Dead Man Feels No Cold
Original Airdate: 3-7-16

I wasn’t so sure about Gotham returning when they announced Mr. Freeze as the new villain of the arc, and I still wasn’t entirely sure when he started going around freezing people. But what did surprise me was the other new villain, one that comic fans might be aware of, but I had never heard of by now and that was Hugo Strange played here by B.D. Wong. As a villain, in just two short episodes he has become the fascinating person with goals that make sense and yet are also very sinister and twisted while simultaneously being secretly out in the open. And his look is so bizarre with the round colored glasses and odd beard choice. It looks very comic book, but somehow doesn’t exactly seem all that out of place in the world of Gotham.

Episode Title: Not Tomorrow Yet
Original Airdate: 3-6-16

After opening with Carol scrounging around Alexandria to make Beet & Acorn Cookies for the kids (ummm…gag), Rick and the others return from Hilltop, calling a meeting in the church to discuss what must be done about the Saviors in exchange for food from Hilltop, with Morgan being the only one who truly objects to killing them. Rick hashes out a plan to go the next day, with some information about their compound from Andy, a guy from Hilltop who has delivered food to the Saviors.

Episode Title: Fail-Safe
Original Airdate: 2-18-16

Still behind on this show, but at least I’m not getting any behinder, not that behinder is a word, but two weeks ago we had this episode that in terms of the team dynamic seems to be sluggishly moving forward. The show continues to make baby steps to show the audience that the Legends of Tomorrow still aren’t a team that’s fully meshed together and working as a single unit, but the bonds are continuing to form character by character and each episode the unit as a whole gets just a little bit stronger while Vandal Savage also seems to slowly become more and more capable and prepared for their next threat.
