Heroes S:01 E:06

Episode Title: Better Halves
Original Airdate: 10-30-2006

After several episodes of dancing around it, we finally get one that more or less reveals what is really going on with Niki and her alter ego, along with the real introduction of D.L. and his powers. Meanwhile, there’s also a bit of connections floating around that reveal more than they were initially letting on. One of my remembered story twists were also revealed in this episode, though not exactly the way I had originally remembered. The biggest issue that I had with this episode is that the focus is on Niki for most of the run time, and she is honestly the least interesting character out of the entire first season group.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold S02 E03

Episode Title: “Revenge of the Reach!”

Original Air Date: January 1, 2010

So ever since the first episode of the first season, I have not enjoyed episodes featuring the third Blue Beetle. Here we have another Jaime Reyes centered episode, so it is starting with one strike against it. I’m not sure why the creators are so determined to make me enjoy Reyes, but for some reason they just won’t quit shoving this petulant teen hero in my face. Will they finally get me to come around on the twerp? Read on to find out.

Batman S:01 E:02

Episode Title: Smack in the Middle
Original Airdate: January 13, 1966

You may recall that at the end of our last episode Robin had been captured by the Riddler and the gang and is now unconscious and strapped to a surgical table. As for Batman, he was in a bit of a stupor after having been served some drugged orange juice at the What a Way to Go-Go. Now we pick up the story in part two of, Smack in the Middle. Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep: 01

Episode title: When She Was Bad

Original air date: September 15, 1997

“Well, that works out great. You won’t tell anyone that I’m the Slayer, and I won’t tell anyone you’re a moron.”

After the surprise success of the first season it was of little surprise that the second season would get a significant boost in episodes with this season consisting of 22 episodes compared to the previous seasons 13 episodes.

Having vanquished “The Master” at the end of the first season, Sunnydale has been surprisingly free of vampire activity, while Buffy has spent the summer with her father in Los Angeles, leaving Xander and Willow to carry out her patrols. It’s of course not long before the pair encounters their first vampire of the series with Buffy perfectly timing her return to dust the vampire with her usual effortless cool. However it soon seems that not everything is fine with her as she continues to deal with the fallout from last season’s finale. Elsewhere the child like Anointed One and his followers plan to resurrect “The Master” using his skeletal remains.

Episode Title: Captain America
Original Airdate: 11-26-12

Welcome to another Webseries Spotlight where you don’t just have to read about the shows we cover here, but you can actually watch them. This time around I’m featuring an animated webseries from Klomp Animation based out of the Netherlands about superheroes having a bad day, appropriately called Bad Days. We will be sharing an episode, a part of our conversation with lead animator and co-founder Junaid Chundrigar except that we have reached the end of that conversation with some episodes to go. If you want to continue that conversation, leave a comment below. Or if you can’t wait, feel free to check out the rest of the webseries at Stan Lee’s World of Heroes and CineFix. This week it’s the Dark Knight’s turn to face his enemies, his conflicting past, and the fight between gritty and campy.

The day after Dale’s death, the Farm goes on lockdown. Hershel allows the Group to move into the house, as everyone secures the windows and doors, while stockpiling food for potential emergencies. Unfortunately there is still the issue of Randall. Rick is determined to take him over an hour away, with Daryl’s help, to dump him. Shane, having had enough, unties Randall and leads him into the woods, snapping his neck. Shane then rams his own face into a tree and hides his gun. He runs back to the Farm as everyone discovers their prisoner is missing, telling tall tales of Randall sneaking up on him, knocking him out and stealing his gun.

Heroes S:01 E:05

Episode Title: Hiros
Original Airdate: 10-23-06

Onto the fifth episode in the first season and this is the one where things really start to feel like they’re finally coming together. There’s a sense of purpose and a sense of wonder that really shines through in this episode more than some of the other episodes aside from possibly the pilot. There’s also something that I noticed in this episode that either wasn’t in the earlier episodes, or I just hadn’t really noticed and that’s the strong color palette with a focus on the primary colors red, yellow, and blue. There’s also a handful of moments where more characters start embracing their powers besides Hiro who has accepted his power from day one. In fact, Hiro is just about the only character who doesn’t use his powers in this episode.

Batman: The Brave and the Bold S02 E02

Episode Title: “Long Arm of the Law!”

Original Air Date: December 11, 2009

This episode is full of great stuff. We have a bumbling sidekick, a baby superhero, a ridiculous villain, and last but most definitely not least, Plastic Man. All of these elements combine in a celebration of just how much fun the more ridiculous side of comic books and comic book characters can be. So what circumstances lead to this confluence of characters? Read on to find out.

Batman S:01E:01

Episode Title: Hi Diddle Riddle
Original Airdate: January 12, 1966

One of the hallmarks of the 1966 Batman series was its collection of villains. Not just the villains themselves, but the amazing actors enlisted to portray them. The first episode of the series, very appropriately, features one of the series’ most iconic villains. Frank Gorshin makes his debut as the Riddler in Hi Diddle Riddle.
