Episode Title: Heads Up
Original Airdate: 11-22-15

Well, I feel used.

So Glenn’s alive. The Walkers were indeed feasting on Nicholas’s fresh corpse and leaving Glenn alone, because clearly they have no depth perception and couldn’t tell there was another meal RIGHT THERE. As many fans theorized, he was able to pull himself to safety under the dumpster from which he had just fallen, where he waited all night. Upon emerging, Enid, of all people, was on the roof of the adjacent building and threw him some water. The two exchanged some heated words about Alexandria and he forced her to go back with him. When they reached the walls, they stopped short at the terrifying sight of hundreds of Walkers clawing to get in.

Jessica Jones S:01 E:01

Episode Title: AKA Ladies Night

Original Air Date: 11/20/2015

Jessica Jones is hired to find a pretty NYU student who’s vanished but it turns out to be more than a simple missing persons case.

When Marvel first announced their Netflix shows, the one that had me the most intrigued was Jessica Jones, simply because I knew nothing about the character. I knew some details about Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage but not her. This intrigue only increased as the cast for the show was assembled as a lot of great actors kept being added and now the full series has been released and, based in this first episode, we’re off to a good start.

Batman S:01 E:15

Episode Title: The Joker Goes to School
Original Airdate: March 2, 1966

This week Batman’s arch rival returns to Gotham City for a new scheme. Only a criminal as sinister as the Joker could conceive of a plot to corrupt the good, decent, teenagers of Gotham. Caesar Romero returns as the mustachioed version of the Clown Prince of Crime in this week’s episode, The Joker goes to School. Continue reading Batman S:01 E:15

The Flash S:02 E:07

Episode title: Gorilla Warfare
Original Airdate: 11-17-15

When we last left our heroes, Barry had been struck down by Zoom, his back broken and Zoom hit with a tranq dart that should have likely worn off after a few hours. But while Barry’s body has healed, his mind hasn’t and there’s an old gorilla back in town. It felt like it was a bit of a step back to give the audience some room to breathe after last week’s intensity and we have a week off before getting to the Flash/Arrow crossover after Thanksgiving. It wasn’t a bad episode by any means, but it wasn’t quite the best either.

SuperMansion S:01 E:09

Episode Title: Unfortunate Son
Originally Aired: 11/19/15

The newest episode of SuperMansion sees the team tackling many foes: disappointed parents, meaningless relationships, customer support and the Russian mob. Lex has the least to do in this episode, but she is not completely ignored, making it an engaging episode for fans of each hero.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:02 Ep:14

Episode title: Innocence

Original air date: January 20, 1998

“It’s intresing to me that “preparing” looks a great bit like sitting on your ass. When do we destroy the world already” – Spike

So last week we ended on one of the most memorable cliff hangers of the series with Angel’s curse being lifted as the result of him having sex with Buffy, with the previous episode leaving him to howl into the rain as his soul was removed and he became Angelus once more. Seemingly between episodes it stopped raining despite the scene continuing but here as we get to witness first hand Angel’s evil side as he bites a smoking woman followed by exhaling a long plume of smoke in a pretty nice touch. Needless to say the days of Angel being the brooding love interest for now are clearly over as he this episode establishes him as the big evil for the season as he reunites with Spike and Drusilla.

Gotham S:02 E:09

Episode Title: A Bitter Pill to Swallow
Original Airdate: 11-16-15

I can’t entirely tell if this show is actually getting better, or if I’ve finally just given in and accepted that this isn’t going to be the show that I want it to be. But I really enjoyed this episode, in fact I’d say that it was my favorite of the season so far. It just did all the right things with all of the characters with only a couple minor missteps towards the end. Gordon is really going down a much darker path than I expected, and more or less so is everyone on this show except for possibly baby Bruce. But there’s still room for a bit of comedy here and there to lighten things up.

Arrow S:04 E:07

Episode Title: Brotherhood
Original Airdate: 11-19-15

When I heard yet another presumed dead character would be popping up, I was braced for more of the same, but an intriguing twist made this week’s episode more engaging than the standard Arrow staple plot twist.

Thankfully not stretching out the Andy revelation, Diggle immediately tells Oliver about HIVE targeting Andy because his criminal activities were infringing on their agenda. Continue reading Arrow S:04 E:07

iZombie S:02 E:06 and E:07

iZombie S2

Sorry I was MIA with last week’s post. If you caught up on this week’s (late) TWD review yesterday, then you know I was laptop free on The Strip all last week. So now you get a two-for-one deal on your brains-of-the-week. (I just typed “week” way too many times in such a short paragraph.)

Episode Title: Max Wager
Original Airdate: 11-10-15

The case-of-the-week offered something new, as it was a direct continuation of the previous episode’s case-of-the-week. The attorney with the gambling problem that was the cause of the security guard’s death in “Love and Basketball” (though not the actual killer) is murdered on the courthouse steps after taking a plea deal as an accessory and being handed a very light, minimum security prison sentence, much to Babineaux’s chagrin. Of course the murder of a gambling addict who would have been the star witness in a murder case leads to a number of suspects for Babineaux and Liv to vet.

Episode Title: Always Accountable
Original Airdate: 11-15-15

Sorry this is a day late, and I skipped my iZombie review last week, but I’ve been living it up in Las Vegas, with no thoughts of the undead apocalypse on my brain. Actually that’s not entirely true: I did envision the madness on The Strip if a sudden zombie outbreak occurred, because of course I did. Now on to the show.

It’s time to catch up with Daryl, Sasha and Abraham, because this leading-a-thousand-Walkers-out-of-a-pit plan can’t go perfectly smoothly with the ones doing the actual leading. Alas, it’s not the horde of Walkers on their heals, but completely random trigger-happy humans that derail the trio. Near the end of their long trek, the three are suddenly fired upon and barely manage to escape with only a few scratches. Unfortunately in the process, they become separated.
