Batman S:02 E:51

Episode Title: A Piece of the Action
Original Airdate: March 1, 1967

On today’s episode of Batman we journey into the realm of the crossover episode. That’s where characters from another popular program show up for a little fun. It’s like Gary Coleman showing up as Arnold Jackson on The Facts of Life, or Laverne and Shirley dropping by to visit the Fonze on Happy Days. Well, in this case, we get the main characters from William Dozier’s other late 60’s superhero series, The Green Hornet. That means guest appearances by Van Williams as well as perhaps the most famous (globally speaking) guest star to ever appear on the show, Bruce Lee. Get ready for A Piece of the Action. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:51

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:05 Ep:15

Episode Title: I Was Made To Love You

Original Air Date: February 20th 2001

“Ow. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve had it with super-strong little women who aren’t me.” – Buffy

Despite on the surface seemingly like another monster of the week episode, this one actually when viewed knowing what lies ahead for the series really marks a lot of key moments for the series. The main focus though is on a robot girlfriend who arrives in Sunnydale looking for her creator while at the same time harbouring a serious jealous streak which could spell trouble for anyone who gets in her way.

Wonder Woman S:01 E:07

Episode Title: The Pluto File
Original Airdate: December 25, 1976

There are certain actors that are well known for playing villains. There’s just a certain quality that makes them particularly suited to that type of role. Now, maybe it’s just me, but if I were a casting director, my first instinct for casting a bad guy would probably not be to go for an actor who is most famous for playing one of TV’s most famous sitcom dads. Then again, actors pride themselves on versatility. Forget about The Brady Bunch for a while, because this episode gives us Robert Reed (Mike Brady himself) as a sinister agent working for the Nazis in The Pluto File. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:27

Episode Title: Wheel of Misfortune
Original Airdate: November 1, 1993

We’ve seen a bunch of ridiculous villains on this series so far, but this week we’ve got something pretty wacky. Eye creatures…I get, evil frogs…to be expected, but today’s monster is like some sort of cross between a kaiju film and an episode of Antiques Roadshow. Let’s see what happens in today’s episode, Wheel of Misfortune. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:27

Iron Fist S:01 E:05

Episode Title: Under Leaf Pluck Lotus
Originally Aired: March 17 2017

I haven’t mentioned it before but I am a fan of the opening credits for Iron Fist. It features a warrior made of molten iron going through a kata with flashes of yellow to represent the fist. The theme has a lot of bass and reverb in it and I always find it enjoyable even though it doesn’t kick off the show and comes a few minutes later, interrupting the story. A lot has changed in a short while for our main characters and we have added a new character to the roster if only for a short while. Clair Temple has made her at least her first appearance in Iron Fist. Continue reading Iron Fist S:01 E:05

Batman S:02 E:50

When we last left Gotham City, Batman and Robin were tied up in a giant coffee cup about to be scalded by sulfuric acid contained in an equally giant coffee pot. All the while, Catwoman and her goons are off to steal some precious jewels. Let’s see how the Dynamic Duo get out of this one in Batman Displays his Knowledge. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:50

Wonder Woman S:01 E:06

Episode Title: Wonder Woman vs. Gargantua
Original Airdate: December 18, 1976

If King Kong taught us anything it’s that gorillas are drawn to beautiful women! So what better way for the Nazis to try and finally get rid of Wonder Woman, than to train a gorilla to attack her! No we’re not getting an appearance by Gorilla Grodd…dream on DC fanboys. It’s an ultimate case of beauty against beast in Wonder Woman vs. Gargantua. Continue reading Wonder Woman S:01 E:06

Iron Fist S:01 E:04

Episode Title: Eight Diagram Dragon Palm
Originally Aired: March 17th 2017

This show doesn’t seem to be one for cliffhangers, when we left last week, Danny had been pushed out of a penthouse window and this episode opens with him waking up on a couch. No answers to how the Meachums got him off someone else’s balcony, but I’m assuming the answer is money. The theme of this episode for me is, the returning, the return of people everyone thought was gone, the return to a world you cannot resist and the return of excitement.
