“My boyfriend had a bicentennial.” – Buffy

It’s only been a couple of weeks but already we are faced with another two part episode, but more importantly this episode also marks the first Buffy birthday something which would become a running theme with future Buffy birthdays falling on either the 13th or 14th episode of each season. This however doesn’t mean Buffy has an easy week, as Spike and Drusilla return with a new plot to assemble the limbs of a powerful demon known as “The Judge”.

Episode Title: Enter Zoom
Original Airdate: 11-10-15

Wow, this show goes from 0-60 pretty damn quick. Ever since the beginning of season one, this show has hit all the high marks in many different ways, especially with the ways that it rarely relies on the villains of the week. There’s usually another purpose to them, something that relates to the larger story at hand, or they will come back to play a role in another episode sooner or later. This episode is the Flash firing on all cylinders, it has some of the most hilarious scenes, it has some great heart-to-heart between Barry and Joe, and it has some balls out action between Flash and our first look at Zoom, and boy is it a doozy.

Episode Title: Tonight’s the Night
Original Airdate: 11-09-15

I won’t go so far as to say that this episode falls back down into the hill of annoyability, but in terms of tropes and predictability, this really took the cake. I mean between obvious trap is obvious, car sideswiped by a truck out of nowhere, and villain dangling from a high place holding onto the arm of our hero, it’s pretty thick with them. Luckily, we also get a nice sidetrack with the Riddler on his own path through the woods, and a little bit of Harvey Bullock to lighten the mood.

Episode Title: Now
Original Airdate: 11-9-15

The Group is slowly starting to come back together. The episode opens with Deanna looking at the mess that Alexandria has become in just a few short hours. In the background we see Michonne telling Maggie about Glenn’s plan to save everyone else. Suddenly everyone hears Rick yelling to open the gate, as he’s headed toward town with half the horde right on his heels. (Wait, how did he escape the completely surrounded RV? Then run that far, through that many Walkers unscathed? Just because he’s Rick Grimes? Um, no. Unacceptable. I was highly anticipating that escape scene, and I feel cheated.) Suddenly hundreds of Walkers surround the walls, leaving the remaining Alexandrites terrified and convinced they won’t live through the night. They go to raid the pantry and start to turn on each other, until Deanna’s son, Spencer, steps in and tells everyone to go home because they don’t want to look back on this day as the one that tore them apart. Really he just wanted to sneak some hooch and crackers, so he could get drunk and blame his mom for all the town’s problems.

Episode Title: A Midsummer Night’s Ream
Originally Aired: 11-05-15

One of my favorite things from the newest episode of SuperMansion takes place in the intro: We see a quick glimpse of all the villains the League has had to fight this season, followed by the silhouettes of the bad guys still to come. There seemed to be a lot of them, which raises my hopes of a full on League of Justice vs the Injustice Club fight.

“I See Your ‘Gyughhh!’ and raise you a Nyaghhh!” – Buffy

It’s a mixed bag of ideas that this underrated (let alone another of my favourite) episodes as it not only manages to reference both “Aliens” and “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” but also manages to work in a pair of vampire cowboys as well.

Episode Title: The Darkness and the Light
Original Airdate: 11-3-15

So five episodes in and we finally get the full return of Tom Cavanagh as Earth 2’s Harrison Wells, and while it’s likely that he’s not evil he is apparently a huge jerk, to put it in polite terms. The Flash is always a fun show, but this was one of the funniest episodes in recent memory. It went a little dark a couple times and brought in the drama, but it also had some great gags with Barry’s literal blind date as well as everybody having to come to terms with the new Wells.

Episode Title: Mommy’s Little Monster
Original Airdate: 11-2-15

And we’re back, and on time this time. Kinda. Hopefully. If I finish writing this quickly enough. Anyway after hemming and hawwing for a bit, I’m back on board for a while with Gotham, and hopefully it stays this way. There aren’t any characters that are completely aggravating me, and the intrigue is actually intriguing. We’ve got Butch back in business. Kinda. Hopefully. Penguin in full-on gang war with Galavan, and Gordon finally wising up to his ways even if it is a little bit too late. Did this or did this not feel like the fastest mayoral race in history, even if it is supposedly an emergency election? Whatever. I’m still on board. For now.

Episode Title: Here’s Not Here
Original Airdate: 11-1-15

Remember in Season 4 when a lot of bad things were happening at the Prison and they interrupted everything to spend two full episodes catching us up on what the Governor had been up to? It happened again. Not with the Governor, but Morgan and his stick. So forget the insanity of the herd, the Wolves and the Is-Glenn-dead-or-not mystery, because none of it was addressed last night.

The episode opens with Morgan talking to the Wolf that attacked him at the end of the season’s second episode. Morgan did not kill him like the ending implied, but just dragged him to the holding cell below the armory. Then Morgan tells the Wolf his story.

Episode Title: By Fire
Original Airdate: 10-26-15

It’s getting old hat to say how much I’m up and down on Gotham so instead of going through it all again, I’ll just skip to the end and say that I rather enjoyed this episode minus a couple characters that I’m not feeling very much anymore. It has a strong turn for Cat as well as the continuation of a turning point for Gordon. It also furthers Nygma’s plot, and while it does once again go much further down the rabbit hole than I would have expected considering the show’s timeline, I’ll go along with it for now. And as far as Bridgit’s Firefly, she had a nice bit of a tragic villain story with a twist at the end that I rather enjoyed.
