Episode Title: The Man in the Box
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

Matt is being pulled in multiple directions in the latest episode of Netflix and Marvel’s Daredevil. Almost every character he has loved or fought against in the series makes an appearance or at least is mentioned. Frank is on the loose and the city is panicking as they wonder whom his next victim will be. Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:10

Episode Title: 7 Minutes in Heaven
Originally Aired:March 18th 2016

The moments in this episode that give it its title go about as well as the popular game does for most teenagers. 7 minutes of nearly real time action will change the course of the remainder of the season in the most brutal fashion the show has ever seen. With Wilson Fisk making his return and quickly climbing the prison power rankings until he is once again the kingpin albeit a much smaller criminal word this time, but he is using this world to influence the next. Episode Title: Guilty as Sin
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

The past collides with the present in the newest episode of Marvel’s Daredevil. We get to hear a little about what brought Elektra back into Matt’s life and the reason is not as simple as he originally thought. He wondered if it was her heart leading her or if she somehow figured out who he was and that she could use him to obtain her goals. The true answer was something he never expected, she has come back to him because it was part of her mission. A mission given to her by a man from Matt’s past, Stick, the man who trained him and apparently Elektra. Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:08

Episode Title: Semper Fidelis
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

Semper fidelis is the motto of the United States Marine Core and is commonly shortened to just Semper Fi. A Latin phrase that means always loyal or always faithful, it is unclear who the title is referring to at this point in the season. Matt has always had issues with lying, which is starting to alienate those closest to him. Elektra is loyal to no one and nothing other than her current desires. Matt’s professional and personal relationships with Foggy and Karen are being negatively affected by his time as Daredevil. Last season he lost a chance with Claire, what could being the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen cost him this time around? Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:07

Daredevil S:02 E:06

Episode Title: Regrets only
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

This week sees the two main storylines of the season finally beginning to intersect. Elektra’s reasons for being in town and back in Matt’s life are becoming a little clearer and the hospitalized Punisher is awake and back in their lives as well. With a bogus public defender on the case, it falls to the law firm of Nelson and Murdock to take on the task of defending Frank Castle, the city’s most violent vigilante. Episode Title: Kinbaku
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

The fifth installment to Daredevil’s second season is decidedly different from the previous four. The violence was at a minimum this time around contained to two scenes instead of throughout the episode. The main activity in this episode was flirting, between Foggy and Marci, Matt and Karen as well as Matt and Elektra. Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:05

This week’s story focuses on three characters Matt, Karen and Frank, as the truth of what drives Frank is slowly drug into the light. We find out what happened to Frank to turn him into the man that we have seen in the last three episodes, and hopefully, we will find out why it happened in the remaining episodes. Episode Title: New York’s Finest

This episode covered both ends of the spectrum; it started with long sequences of dialog and exposition and finished with the most action-filled scene of the series so far. We finally learn the Punisher’s first name, Frank, and that he believes he is doing what is right by preventing evil men from committing further atrocities. While I could always use more Foggy, this very good episode let us scratch the surface of what motivates our two heroes.

After the exciting conclusion to the first episode of the new season the second episode starts with Foggy on a frantic search for the injured Matt. The mystery of who Daredevil’s rooftop opponent was is slowly being brought into the light literally and figuratively. We finally get to see The Punisher in the light for the first time and get a good look at John Bernthal’s Frank Castle. We also learn that the moniker The Punisher is the code name given to him by the police and District Attorney’s office.  Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:02

Jessica Jones Season 1 Round-Up

So here it is, my final round-up for the first series of Jessica Jones. First thing to say, it’s been great reviewing the show for Channel Superhero, I hope to continue doing reviews for the site in the future. As I stated in the first of these reviews, I had no knowledge of Jessica Jones prior to watching the show, although I’ve been making myself aware of the history of the character as I’ve been watching the show. I always think that the strength in anything based on a comic character is that it should make you want to keep watching even if you’ve never heard of the character and I have to say that Jessica Jones has more than succeeded. This is easily better than the first season of Daredevil in terms of the Marvel Netflix shows and I have to say, it’s one of the best parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.
