Daredevil S:02 E:06

Episode Title: Regrets only
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

This week sees the two main storylines of the season finally beginning to intersect. Elektra’s reasons for being in town and back in Matt’s life are becoming a little clearer and the hospitalized Punisher is awake and back in their lives as well. With a bogus public defender on the case, it falls to the law firm of Nelson and Murdock to take on the task of defending Frank Castle, the city’s most violent vigilante. Episode Title: Kinbaku
Originally Aired: March 18th 2016

The fifth installment to Daredevil’s second season is decidedly different from the previous four. The violence was at a minimum this time around contained to two scenes instead of throughout the episode. The main activity in this episode was flirting, between Foggy and Marci, Matt and Karen as well as Matt and Elektra. Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:05

Episode Title: New York’s Finest

This episode covered both ends of the spectrum; it started with long sequences of dialog and exposition and finished with the most action-filled scene of the series so far. We finally learn the Punisher’s first name, Frank, and that he believes he is doing what is right by preventing evil men from committing further atrocities. While I could always use more Foggy, this very good episode let us scratch the surface of what motivates our two heroes.

Episode Title: Dogs to a Gunfight
Originally Aired: March 18th, 2016

After the exciting conclusion to the first episode of the new season the second episode starts with Foggy on a frantic search for the injured Matt. The mystery of who Daredevil’s rooftop opponent was is slowly being brought into the light literally and figuratively. We finally get to see The Punisher in the light for the first time and get a good look at John Bernthal’s Frank Castle. We also learn that the moniker The Punisher is the code name given to him by the police and District Attorney’s office.  Continue reading Daredevil S:02 E:02

Episode Title: Bang
Originally Aired: 3/18/2016

As temperatures climb tempers flare and as the title implies the new season of Daredevil starts with a bang. Season 2 picks up a short but indeterminate amount of time after the events of season 1, new cartels, mobs and criminals of every sort are out to fill the void left behind by the Kingpin and his associates. The city of Hell’s Kitchen is in the grips of a heat wave, things are about to boil over and Daredevil may not be the man for the job this time around.

Agent Carter Season 2 Recap

Season two of Agent Carter started out about as well as anyone could have asked. Unfortunately after six episodes into the ten episode season things began to fall apart. If the show returns for a third season I hope they move on from all of the writers responsible for the final four episodes except for Brant Englestein who also wrote the season premier. Episode Title: Episode 8 The Edge Of Mystery Episode 9: A Little Song and Dance
Originally Aired: February 23rd 2016

Agent Carter is the best comic book show that “no one” is watching, this could be due to the fact that it is only superhero adjacent instead of focused on them like the more popular shows. It could be a result of an average first season. Whatever the reason someone has for not watching season 2 it is really unfortunate, even on a night when they didn’t put their best foot forward Agent Carter is still performing well above average this year.

Jessica Jones Season 1 Round-Up

So here it is, my final round-up for the first series of Jessica Jones. First thing to say, it’s been great reviewing the show for Channel Superhero, I hope to continue doing reviews for the site in the future. As I stated in the first of these reviews, I had no knowledge of Jessica Jones prior to watching the show, although I’ve been making myself aware of the history of the character as I’ve been watching the show. I always think that the strength in anything based on a comic character is that it should make you want to keep watching even if you’ve never heard of the character and I have to say that Jessica Jones has more than succeeded. This is easily better than the first season of Daredevil in terms of the Marvel Netflix shows and I have to say, it’s one of the best parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far.
