Episode Title: AKA Ladies Night
Original Air Date: 11/20/2015
Jessica Jones is hired to find a pretty NYU student who’s vanished but it turns out to be more than a simple missing persons case.
When Marvel first announced their Netflix shows, the one that had me the most intrigued was Jessica Jones, simply because I knew nothing about the character. I knew some details about Daredevil, Iron Fist and Luke Cage but not her. This intrigue only increased as the cast for the show was assembled as a lot of great actors kept being added and now the full series has been released and, based in this first episode, we’re off to a good start.
Episode Title: Road to Knowhere
Original Airdate: 9-26-15
In case you didn’t know, while the official premier date of the cartoon version of the Guardians of the Galaxy isn’t until September 26th, there was a sneak preview of the pilot episode along with several mini-sodes that looked at the origins of the main five characters from before they met up with each other in the movie just yesterday on Disney XD. I managed to watch the pilot episode as well as all of the mini-sodes and am here to give you my take on them. For the most part, I thought that they kept up with the movie’s humor while appropriately playing down the more adult elements of the humor. The voicework is quite obviously different from the film version, but they all manage to grasp the correct elements of their characters and while it might take a little getting used to if you’re a fan of the film, it doesn’t detract from the overall enjoyment of the show.

We have seen The X-Men battle the likes of Magneto and Sabretooth, but in this episode. We get to see two of these great heroes battle a foe that will be the demise of them both. The love of another woman. In particular I’m speaking about Wolverine and Cyclops and their love for Jean Grey. Not that I blame them, I too have a fondness for redheads as well. I’ll get into that love triangle a little later as well as talk about the joys and pain of one of the members being used as a sex slave. But let’s get to the meat of this episode, shall we. Episode Title: Night of The Sentinels. Parts 1 and 2
Original Airdate: 10-31-92
Hello everyone and welcome back to my coverage of X-Men: The Animated Series. Night of The Sentinels would be the show’s pilot episode and for a kids show. It does manage to have some pretty heavy subject material in the first few shows With concepts ranging from concentration camps in the holocaust to sacrificing your own life to save a friend. This first one does reference stories from previous issues of the comic. Such as the creation of The Sentinels(Uncanny X-Men #14) and the mutant registration act(Uncanny X-Men #181). The look and design of the characters themselves are almost identical to the ones artist Jim Lee drew in the 90’s. Let’s cue up that awesome theme song and start discussing this first entry.
