Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:04 Ep:09

Episode Title: Something Blue

Original Air Date: November 30, 1999

“This is the crack team that foils my every plan? I am deeply shamed.” – Spike

Despite Oz being gone for a couple of episode now, for some reason the writers felt that this was the perfect time to have Willow mope over his departure. Things however are only made worse when her emotional state causes her to unwittingly start to lose control of her powers.

This is one of those episode which could have turned out so wrong in the hands of other writers but instead of giving us the expected episode of teen angst and general moping about here turns into something pretty special let alone surprisingly amusing as the most casual statement made by Willow starts coming true. As such Xander becomes a demon magnet, Giles goes blind and more shockingly Spike proposes to Buffy!!

Episode Title: Do Not Disturb
Original Airdate: 9-4-16

A gripping opening continued into a really good episode this week. When Strand, Madison, Alicia and Ofelia walked through the deserted hotel last week, they came upon an abandoned wedding reception in the ballroom. This week we got to see the wedding from hell, as the father of the bride died of a heart attack, reanimated and bit into his daughter’s face. The real kicker came when hotel manager, Elena locked all the wedding guests in the ballroom to contain the situation. That’s just cold.

Episode Title: The Impractical Joker
Original Airdate: November 16, 1966

Sometimes I really wonder about the incarceration system in Gotham City. Batman and Robin are quite skilled at capturing the criminals, but somehow they keep on getting back out on the street. It’s not like any of them end up rehabilitated either. They all go back to their criminal ways. So, even though he’s been captured many times before, the Joker (Cesar Romero) returns this week in our episode, The Impractical Joker. Continue reading Batman S:01 E:21

Episode Title: Pangs

Original Air Date: November 23, 1999

“And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men. Evil. You know, ‘straight up, black hate, tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis’ bad. Not all mixed up with guilt and the destruction of an indigenous culture.” – Buffy

Thanksgiving has come to Sunnydale and with her mother out of town visiting her aunt; Buffy is left wanting to throw a thanksgiving celebration with her friends. At the same time when he accidently falls into a tomb beneath the college campus Xander unwittingly releases Hus, a Native American vengeance spirit

It seems that no one can celebrate a holiday in Sunnydale without something happening and this week it’s the turn of thanksgiving in an episode I honestly couldn’t remember seeing before much like “Gingerbread” which on one hand is great because it means getting to essentially watch a new episode and getting all the suprises which come with watching it for the first time. On the downside it was this episode which for the most part really is kind of a non-starter which really is only the more surprising when you look at all the pieces in play here.

Episode Title: Los Muertos
Original Airdate: 8-28-16

Thankfully Nick is not the main focus this week, as we catch up with what Madison, Strand, Alicia and Ofelia have been up to since escaping the compound. Apparently, they just drove around for two days looking for Nick and Travis and coming up empty. Strand finally convinces Madison that they have to go back to the boat, but when they get to the beach, the Abigail is gone. So it’s time to find shelter, which they do in a nearby beach resort. The place seems safe enough, with no Infected littering the downstairs or hallways. However, when Alicia and Ofelia begin inspecting the individual rooms, they realize many are filled will the undead. Meanwhile, Madison and Strand decide to raid the hotel bar, getting drunker and louder by the minute, attracting a group of undead from a building across the street. Soon the Infected trapped in the rooms upstairs begin falling over the balconies to find the source of the noise as well, trapping Strand and Madison with no chance of escape and no weapons for defense. Upstairs, Alicia realizes what’s happening with the falling dead, but Ofelia has disappeared, leaving the youngest member of the Clark family alone with more Infected bearing down.

Preacher S:01 E:09

Episode Title: Finish The Song
Originally Aired: July 24th 2016

With only one episode left this season of AMC’s Preacher, everyone is shown preparing in his or her own way for Jesse’s climatic sermon next Sunday. Some people like Odin spend their time as if it was any other week, which apparently includes window side whiskey and an office fight club. His story is seemingly over, he will play a part in next week’s episode but it will most likely be one of pure reaction. His biggest role this season has already played out where he shows Jesse a loophole in his ability. That people of different beliefs may not be affected in the way he would anticipate. Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:04 Ep:07

“A flare gun? Xander, if I find Spike I’m staking him, not signalling ships at sea!” – Buffy

So it’s been an eventful few weeks for Buffy and the Scoobies and with the departure of Oz in the previous episode, it doesn’t look like things are getting any better for them. Still for us the viewer we finally get the first big reveal of the season aswell as the start of the main plotline as discover the truth behind those mysterious masked Initiative commandos we have seen lurking around the campus. More exciting though is the reveal that several of their numbers might be closer to Buffy than expected.
