Episode Title: The Joker’s Flying Saucer
Original Airdate: February 29, 1968

We are down to the last few episodes of Batman and we have seen all the major villains put in their final appearances. That is, with one notable exception. It seems appropriate that the biggest of all of Batman’s foes should be the last iconic villain to put in an appearance on this show. We bid farewell to Cesar Romero’s take on the clown prince of crime in today’s episode, The Joker’s Flying Saucer. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:24

Episode Title: The Joke’s on Catwoman
Original Airdate: January 4, 1968

In our last episode we had a less than satisfying team up between Cesar Romero’s Joker and Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman. It was a convoluted plot involving stealing a pair of pajamas and a baby’s cradle to learn the location of some gun powder that’s been hidden for 200 years. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Let’s see if things get any better in part two of the story, the first episode to air in 1968, The Joke’s on Catwoman. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:17

Episode Title: The Funny Feline Felonies
Original Airdate: December 28, 1967

Well, on our last few episodes we’ve had to deal with the bizarre team up of Olga and Egghead. I’m all for seeing some of the bad guys joining forces, but that was just kind of weird. This week we have another team-up, but this time it involves two much more iconic villains. Get ready for Joker and Catwoman working together in The Funny Feline Felonies. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:16

The last few weeks of Batman have been a bit rough. We need an old dependable villain to fully recover from the effects of a liquored up Tallulah Bankhead. Luckily, this week we have good ole’ Cesar Romero, back once again as the Clown Prince of Crime. He decides to take on the art world in today’s episode…Pop Goes the Joker. Episode Title: The Joker’s Last Laugh
Original Airdate: February 15, 1967

Sometimes I think the citizens of Gotham are pretty stupid. I mean, they do have a couple of masked heroes to save them from all the villains, but somehow the powers that be allow those villains to continue escaping after being caught for the umpteenth time. This time we see their stupidity even further when people all over the city fall for counterfeit money so poorly made that the Parker Brothers wouldn’t put it in a Monopoly set. It’s all another trick of the Joker’s in today’s episode, The Joker’s Last Laugh. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:47

In fact, Robin has already been slurped up by the creature. Let’s find out how they get out of this one in the conclusion of the series’ first three-part story, The Penguin Declines. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:39

Episode Title: The Zodiac Crimes
Original Airdate: January 11, 1967

We’ve made it through 70 episodes of Batman, and so far they’ve all followed the same basic two-part story format. Producers decided to do something a bit different, though, to celebrate the one year anniversary of the show. Which brings us to the first of two three-part stories that would air during the show’s second season. For that, one villain would not be enough. So here come Special Guest Villain the Joker (Cesar Romero), as well as “Extra Special Guest Villain” the Penguin (Burgess Meredith) in The Zodiac Crimes. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:37
