Luke Cage S:01 E:11

Episode Title: Now You’re Mine
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The latest episode of the Marvel and Netflix collaboration may have been its best to date. With only two episodes to go, it is hard not to binge through to the end to experience everything they have planned.  Several aspects of this episode reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Die Hard. The episode features one man versus a team of armed gunmen, a psychotic leader that has no value for a life that is not his, and a mix of inept and trigger happy cops outside. Episode Title: No Clowning Around
Original Airdate: September 17, 1993

Some people are afraid of clowns.  I admit, it’s hard for me to relate to this particular phobia, especially since I actually have several friends who are professional clowns.  While watching my friends perform I’ve seen grown adults leave the room because of this irrational fear.  Perhaps these folks were traumatized by today’s episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.  It is perhaps one of the most iconic episodes of the show’s first season…No Clowning Around. Batman S:02 E:34

Episode Title: The Catwoman Goeth
Original Airdate: December 29th, 1966

Last week’s episode of Batman featured a team up between a well-known villain, Catwoman (Julie Newmar) and a new villain, Sandman (Michael Rennie). The result was quite possibly one of the worst episodes in the history of the series. Can part two possibly recover? That may be a bigger cliffhanger than the actual one…which sees Batman about to be stitched into a giant quilt. Let’s see what happens in part two of our story, The Catwoman Goeth. Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:04 Ep:21

Episode Title: Primeval

Original Air Date: May 16, 2000

“Xander, just because this is never going to work, there’s no need to be negative.” – Giles

So after a season of up and downs we finally reach the final climatic showdown with Adam…well it would be had the show runners not had the bright idea of randomly making this the penultimate episode instead of the finale. Still after spending most of the season since he was introduced hiding in his lair hidden within the Initiative facility its kind of a relief to know he actually had a plan, as it turns out all those extra demons being captured by the Initiative were infact him pulling his own version of a Trojan horse making for a fantastic climax to the episode.

Episode Title: Sing Me a Song
Original Airdate: 12-4-16

Was anyone else ready for some Negan and Carl bonding? I surely wasn’t. In this week’s 90-minute episode, Rick and Aaron may have found a compound full of supplies, but must cross a lake full of bobbing Walkers to get to it. Eugene made Rosita a bullet, after she belittled the hell out of him. Spencer was a spoiled d-bag, per the norm, who also found a small stockpile of goods. And Michonne set up a Walker road block to sabotage one of the Saviors, so she could hitch a ride back to the Sanctuary.

Episode Title: Happy Birthday, Zack
Original Airdate: September 16, 1993

I’ve watched an awful lot of TV in my life…more than what is probably healthy. So, there are certain plot devices that I recognize as the old standbys, so to speak. You know, those story elements that we see over and over and over again. One of those would definitely be having a character think that everybody else on the show has forgotten their birthday. Well, that’s just what happens to Zack in today’s episode, Happy Birthday, Zack. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:10

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:04 Ep:20

Episode Title: The Yoko Factor

Original Air Date: May 9, 2000

“So…I guess I’m starting to understand why there’s no ancient prophecy about a Chosen One … and her friends.” – Buffy

So finally this week the writers decide to address the elephant in the room and finally address how the group have slowly grown apart this season as they’ve pursued relationships and their own individual paths, but seeing how late in the season this revelation is coming said elephant is more of a rotting festering corpse than something I could really care about, but this what Adam plans to exploit.

Batman S:02 E:33

Episode Title: The Sandman Commeth
Original Airdate: December 28, 1966

When I hear the name Sadman used for a super villain I think of the shape shifting character from the world of Spider-Man. But in today’s episode of Batman we get a different Sandman. He’s brought to life actor Michael Rennie, who is probably most remembered for playing the role of Klaatu in The Day the Earth Stood Still. But that’s not the only baddie we get in this episode! Julie Newmar’s Catwoman is also on hand for today’s episode The Sandman Commeth. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:33

Luke Cage S:01 E:10

Episode Title: Take it Personal
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The newest episode of Luke cage was close to being one of its best. A few moments of refrigerator logic aside, it was a good entertaining episode. The police want Luke and they want blood, willing to hurt innocent people and the people that consider Luke a friend in order to bring him in. Mariah is at the peak of her political power play game and Diamondback is as crazy and dangerous as ever. Continue reading Luke Cage S:01 E:10

Episode Title: Swear
Original Airdate: 11-27-16

Time to catch up with Tara and Heath. After Rick & Co. thought they took out all the Saviors at the satellite compound, the dynamic duo set out on a two-week scavenging mission, so they know nothing of the tragedies we’ve witnessed over the last nine episodes. In this episode we find them at the end of their tour with very little to show for it. Tara convinces Heath to push a little further out than planned, but they come to a blocked bridge covered in sand. And of course the sand pile is full of Walkers. The two are not prepared for the fight and become separated when Tara goes over the bridge into the water below.
