Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:13

Episode Title: Peace, Love, and Woe
Original Airdate: September 21, 1993

Have you noticed something about all of Rita’s monsters so far? All dudes. Of course, the main baddie, Rita herself, is female…but still. It’s time for a bit of diversity in the villain department in this episode. Plus, we also add a new human female as Billy gets a bit of a crush in today’s episode, Peace, Love, and Woe. Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:05 Ep:01

Episode Title: Buffy Vs. Dracula

Original Air Date: September 26, 2000

“Oh, good show, Giles. Uhh… at least you didn’t get knocked out for a change” – Giles

So after the mixed results of the diversive season 4 we have a chance to tidy up some of the chaos as we rejoin the group in something of a down period as they hang out on the beach, where the only slaying being done is to the football Buffy is tossing back and forth with Riley. At the same time Willow shows off some of her new control over the elements as she uses her powers to light the barbecue because that’s not an abuse of power or anything. Still its during these opening scenes its established just how restless Buffy has been as she lays awake at night, sneaking out to slay a vampire before being able to finally sleep.

While the previous seasons have opened to Buffy being in transitional state and usually struggling to deal with the events of the previous season, so its something of a change of pace to see her happy for a change. Of course this being Sunnydale it can’t last as the peace is disrupted by the arrival of the legendary vampire Dracula. Okay Okay this might sound like a crappy cash in but here somehow it works here despite the episode not originally being written to feature Dracula as they envisioned just a generic evil vampire for Buffy to face until writer Marti Noxon suggested Dracula which when Joss Wheldon realised that the rights to Dracula where in the public domain was more than happy to change the story to give us this legendary showdown.

Well, it’s been a few weeks since we last visited Gotham City. I just know you’ve been on pins and needles all this time wondering how Batman and Robin were going to get out of their current predicament. If you recall they have been trapped inside a giant X-Ray machine by the Mad Hatter and are about to be zapped out of existence. Let’s see what happens in today’s episode, The Mad Hatter Runs Afoul. Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 4 Wrap Up

So here we are at the end of another season and what a diversive season this one has been which was the general opinion going into it, with some fan regarding it as the worse while I proclaimed it my favourite.

Revisiting this season in a more critical frame of mind it unquestionably has been clear this time round how many ups and down this season has had as we essentially saw the group being divided as Buffy, Willow and Oz headed off to College. Xander hit the road and Giles celebrated his new unemployed status by hooking up with old friends and giving us the occasional musical moment. Unquestionably it was a transformative season and perhaps because of the division these various life paths caused with the group that it failed to sit with some fans who perhaps would have preferred more of the group mentality we got with those first three seasons.

Luke Cage S:01 E:13

Episode Title: You Know My Steez
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The final episode of Marvel and Netflix’s Luke Cage You Know My Steez is finally upon us. I think if the show followed, a typical naming convention for its episodes that this one could have been called Old Beginnings because almost everything is back to the way it was before the events of episode 1. We lost fan favorite characters like Pop and Cottonmouth among many others, but those that survived, while changed, are back where they began. Continue reading Luke Cage S:01 E:13

Luke Cage S:01 E:12

Episode Title: Soliloquy of Chaos
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The penultimate episode of Marvel and Netflix’s Luke Cage is upon us and it did not disappoint. From a great celebrity cameo by Method Man to multiple double crosses and a gang war, I was entertained from start to finish. As most of you probably know each episode this season has been titled after a Gang Starr song, I had to bring it up this time because if you just look at the title it doesn’t make much sense. Yes, the song is terrible, and it is a poor title because it is hard to cause chaos when you are alone, but if you listen or read the final verse of the song, you see that it is about retaliation and a circle of violence that can apply to this episode.

Episode Title: Power Ranger Punks
Original Airdate: September 20, 1993

I don’t know what the different cliques are in high schools of today, but when I was in high school in the 80’s we definitely had the punks. By the early 90’s, though, I’m not so sure this look was still around as much. We were moving over to grunge by that point. In Angel Grove, however, they were about to have a punk problem. Break out your spiked bracelets for today’s episode, Power Ranger Punks. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:12

Batman S:02 E:35

Episode Title: The Contaminated Cowl
Original Airdate: January 4, 1967

So far in the Batman series I can only think of one villain who is regularly referred to by his real name by those around him. That villain is Jervis Tetch, aka the Mad Hatter. Actor David Wayne played the character for one story arc in the first season and is now back in today’s episode, the first of 1967, The Contaminated Cowl. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:35

Episode Title: Restless

Original Air Date: May 23, 2000

“It’s a shame that I never got to tell you how happy I am that you were eaten by a giant snake.” – Xander

So while last week should have in a normal world been the finale to this forth season as we saw Adam vanquished but strangely this episode was the one which they choose to end the season on and in doing so causing the show to fall into the same trap as “The Walking Dead” were the season ends one later than it should have.

Episode Title: Hearts Still Beating
Original Airdate: 12-11-16

Since we checked in with everyone this week, and it was a 90-minute mid-season finale, there is a lot to cover. First, over at the Kingdom (or just outside at Carol’s new place), Richard pleads with Carol and Morgan to convince Ezekiel to attack the Saviors before their deal turns sour and the Kingdom falls. Both refuse to help and Carol demands to be left alone, which would totally be me in the zombie apocalypse. Actually, that’s pretty much me now.
