Wonder Woman S:01 E:01

Episode Title: Wonder Woman meets Baroness von Gunther
Original Airdate: April 21, 1976

Whereas other famous superheroes like Batman and Superman have some pretty iconic bad guys who have been portrayed in their various TV incarnations, Wonder Woman is a bit different. I dare say that many of the people who aren’t a part of the comic book culture would have a hard time naming any of Wonder Woman’s foes, while villains like The Joker, Lex Luthor, The Riddler, or Brainiac are much more well-known. Well, here in our first regular season episode of Wonder Woman we have one of the series’ few appearances of a villain that originated in the comics. Get ready for Wonder Woman meets the Baroness von Gunther. Continue reading Wonder Woman S:01 E:01

Wonder Woman Introduction

When we look at the whole universe of DC Comics characters, it’s very easy to pick out who the big three are…Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. However, while there have been numerous film and TV incarnations of the two male members of that trifecta, DC has struggled to bring Wonder Woman to the screen. Both the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader have been appearing in movies since the 1940’s. With Wonder Woman, things took much longer. She actually didn’t make her big-screen debut until 2014, in of all things The LEGO Movie. For all her struggles when it comes to movies, Wonder Woman did, however, have a very iconic television incarnation in the mid 70’s that gave many children of my generation their definitive version of the character. Episode Title: Penguin is a Girl’s Best Friend
Original Airdate: January 26, 1967

A few weeks ago we had our first ever three-part story of Batman. When the episodes originally aired, that would’ve set off the show’s broadcast schedule. Usually it would’ve been part one of the story on one night, part two on the next. But our last two episodes aired a week apart. So, another three-parter was needed to get back on the right schedule. And just like last time we get not one, but two villains. Here come Burgess Meredith as the Penguin and Carolyn Jones making her second appearance as Marsha, Queen of Diamonds in Penguin is a Girl’s Best Friend. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:42
