Episode Title: Los Muertos
Original Airdate: 8-28-16

Thankfully Nick is not the main focus this week, as we catch up with what Madison, Strand, Alicia and Ofelia have been up to since escaping the compound. Apparently, they just drove around for two days looking for Nick and Travis and coming up empty. Strand finally convinces Madison that they have to go back to the boat, but when they get to the beach, the Abigail is gone. So it’s time to find shelter, which they do in a nearby beach resort. The place seems safe enough, with no Infected littering the downstairs or hallways. However, when Alicia and Ofelia begin inspecting the individual rooms, they realize many are filled will the undead. Meanwhile, Madison and Strand decide to raid the hotel bar, getting drunker and louder by the minute, attracting a group of undead from a building across the street. Soon the Infected trapped in the rooms upstairs begin falling over the balconies to find the source of the noise as well, trapping Strand and Madison with no chance of escape and no weapons for defense. Upstairs, Alicia realizes what’s happening with the falling dead, but Ofelia has disappeared, leaving the youngest member of the Clark family alone with more Infected bearing down.

Episode Title: Finish The Song
Originally Aired: July 24th 2016

With only one episode left this season of AMC’s Preacher, everyone is shown preparing in his or her own way for Jesse’s climatic sermon next Sunday. Some people like Odin spend their time as if it was any other week, which apparently includes window side whiskey and an office fight club. His story is seemingly over, he will play a part in next week’s episode but it will most likely be one of pure reaction. His biggest role this season has already played out where he shows Jesse a loophole in his ability. That people of different beliefs may not be affected in the way he would anticipate. Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:04 Ep:07

“A flare gun? Xander, if I find Spike I’m staking him, not signalling ships at sea!” – Buffy

So it’s been an eventful few weeks for Buffy and the Scoobies and with the departure of Oz in the previous episode, it doesn’t look like things are getting any better for them. Still for us the viewer we finally get the first big reveal of the season aswell as the start of the main plotline as discover the truth behind those mysterious masked Initiative commandos we have seen lurking around the campus. More exciting though is the reveal that several of their numbers might be closer to Buffy than expected.

Episode Title: Grotesque
Original Airdate: 8-21-16

After a zombie-free summer, it’s time to get back into the undead with the mid-season premiere of FTWD. And apparently they want to ease us in as slowly as humanly (and zombiely) possible.

After splitting up the group in the last episode, we return with Nick wandering through the Mexican desert…for an entire episode. After seeing the Abigail compound on fire and inquiring about Celia’s whereabouts to his mother, Nick decided to not escape with Madison at the end of the last episode. This episode picks up with Nick parting ways with one the compound’s servants, with only a small backpack of supplies and no real destination in mind, plus zero survival skills. He quickly loses said backpack, is soon shot at by a crazed gang, then attacked by hungry wild dogs in his sleep, all before becoming dangerously dehydrated and saved at the last minute by the mysterious Luciana and brought to a survival camp. All of this spliced with a few flashback sequences of Nick’s time in rehab somehow took an entire hour to show. Continue reading Fear the Walking Dead S:02 E:08

Episode Title: El Valero

The Highlight of the eighth episode of AMC’s Preacher at least for me was Jackie Earle Haley’s Odin Quincannon. I have always been a fan of Haley ever since I saw him in Breaking Away and The Bad News Bears when I was a kid, and this episode finally answered the question of why he was here other than money. Episode Title: Green Ice
Original Airdate: November 9, 1966

Many big names played villains on the 60’s Batman series. Our guest villain for our next two episodes was a big name, but he wasn’t known so much for acting. Otto Preminger was primarily recognized as a film director having helmed such films as River of No Return, Anatomy of a Murder, and The Man with the Golden Arm. Here he takes over for George Sanders and brings the character of Mr. Freeze closer to the image we now know of the character in Green Ice. Continue reading Batman S:02 E:19

“Giles don’t make caveslayer unhappy.” – Xander

It’s been a rough time for Buffy so far since she headed to college as she has struggled to find her place, while also having to deal with a demon roommate let alone the fallout from her one night stand with Parker, who this week we open to Buffy daydreaming about him apologising to her for what he did. At the same time the equally lost Xander this week gets a job working at the on-campus bar where he soon discovers that there is something in the beer when a group of students including Buffy are turned into Neanderthals.
