The Flash S:02 E:15

Episode Title: King Shark
Original Airdate: 2-23-16

After last week’s doozy of an Earth 2 escape, this week the Flash and co. have to deal with all the repercussions of what they’ve gone through, what’s been lost, and what’s been left behind. And it just so happens that the thing that has been left behind is a giant killer man-shark, and they toss in Diggle for good measure just because. And of course, there’s the big reveal at the end where we finally find out who Zoom is, or at least what he looks like which raises a few more questions than answers at the moment.

Legends of Tomorrow S:01 E:04

Episode Title: White Knights
Original Airdate: 2-11-16

I’m still running behind on my Legends of Tomorrow coverage, but I’m working towards catching up (while starting to fall behind on the Flash, but I’ll be watching that next and it’s taking a month off) As tonight’s episode airs, I go back in time two weeks to watch the team come ever closer together while simultaneously tearing itself apart. And even though I still really enjoy the show for all of its great moments of humor, the more dramatic moments are starting to wear a little thin on me and don’t feel quite so serious as they do elsewhere. Not enough to completely throw me off of the show, but I did catch a bit of an eye roll here and there on this episode.

iZombie S2

Episode Title: Eternal Sunshine of the Caffeinated Mind
Original Airdate: 2-23-16

This week we met the peppier side of our zombie heroine, after she ate┬áthe smashed brains of the owner of a local coffee shop. The victim stepped outside to admire some sidewalk art and got an air conditioner window unit dropped on her noggin. Ouch. It was a pretty standard case with an ex-lover running the rival coffee shop across the street, a thieving employee and a stingy daughter. The thing that did surprise me about the case was that they actually solved it, but the mastermind still got away while someone else took the fall. Usually Liv and Clive get their man (or woman) in the end. Sadly I wasn’t really down with Liv’s secondhand optimism acquired through her brainscotti. She spent most of the episode being obnoxiously positive, but it served no purpose. Though she straightened up by the end when she finally discovered that Gilda is Rita and Rita is Gilda (thanks to a perfectly timed visit from Major who is also now privy to this info) and then punched her in the face, before evicting her. Finally! It was a very satisfying sight to see.

Legends of Tomorrow S:01 E:03

Episode Title: Blood Ties
Original Airdate: 2-4-16

Apologies for running behind on coverage for this show, I assure you that it has nothing to do with how much or how little I enjoy the show because I have been having a lot of fun with it. While the two-part pilot suffered a little bit from pilot-itis, it has a strong premise, great characters, and great moments of action. This is the first episode where the team really starts to gel together after their single unifying moment at the end of the pilot and gets a lot more out in the open than I might have expected.

The Flash S:02 E:14

Episode Title: Escape From Earth 2
Original Airdate: 2-16-16

After last week’s cliffhanger with Barry captured by Zoom and quite possibly stuck on Earth 2 forever (though we all knew that was not really a possibility) this week’s episode finally ties all those loose threads up while creating a whole bucket of new ones. Who was the man in the iron mask? What happened to Jay Garrick? What happened/will happen to Killer Frost? But it still brought together one hell of an episode and while we may have lost one member of the Star labs team, we gained a new one.

iZombie S2

Episode Title: The Whopper
Original Airdate: 2-16-16

While digging for the tainted Utopium in the empty field, Ravi and Major come across a body, but not the one they’re looking for. Clive and Liv begin to investigate, and the victim was a pathological liar, who also worked for Stacy Boss. Liv gladly makes a burger out of his brain, hoping to trigger a vision of where the tainted U might be buried, and by the end of the episode she achieves her goal and the trio finally find their buried “treasure,” and not a moment too soon, because Ravi’s test rat (that was cured, but reverted back to Team Z) dies.

Episode Title: Welcome to Earth 2
Original Airdate: 2-9-16

We finally get to see Earth 2 in all its glory and it ended up being a wish fulfillment episode in the worst and best way possible. Like the best episodes, Earth 2 brought along some of the best laughs along with some really gut wrenching moments and ended on quite a bit of a cliffhanger as well as giving us some surprising information about Jay Garrick that paints his character in a whole different light.

iZombie S2

Episode Title: Physician, Heal Thy Selfie
Original Airdate: 2-9-16

The show stepped slightly away from its regular formula this week as Liv and Clive are handed three HEADLESS corpses. Unable to snack ‘n’ solve, Liv instead lunches on the brains of an iPhone junkie, whose murderless death was the result of tweeting-and-walking (in front of a city bus). Liv laps up internet fame, as she is unable to stop tweeting and instagramming every moment of her day, while Clive grows crankier that she’s unable to have one of her visions to help the case.

Episode Title: Fast Lane
Original Airdate: 2-2-16

After last week’s episode all about goodbyes, this time around the Flash family is going the completely opposite direction and finally welcoming a couple new people to their extended families after a bit of betrayal. All while having to deal with a guy who’s been stuck in tar for two years and eventually is able to use his powers to look a little like a live action Clayface.

iZombie S2

Episode Title: Fifty Shades of Gray Matter
Original Airdate: 2-2-16

With an unexpected two weeks off, we’re back with an excellent episode of iZombie. Liv eats the brain of a librarian, murdered by hemlock poisoning. But instead of donning cozy cardigans and horn-rimmed glasses, Liv becomes the horniest zombie on the block, as the victim wrote erotica in her spare time, having just sold her first book, leaving the suspect pool full.
