Webseries: Bad Days S:01 E:05

Episode Title: X-Men
Original Airdate: 11-05-12

Welcome to another Webseries Spotlight where you don’t just have to read about the shows we cover here, but you can actually watch them. This time around I’m featuring an animated webseries from Klomp Animation based out of the Netherlands about superheroes having a bad day, appropriately called Bad Days. We will be sharing an episode, a part of our conversation with lead animator and co-founder Junaid Chundrigar, and/or some behind the scenes pictures each week every Thursday. But if you can’t wait, feel free to check out the rest of the webseries at Stan Lee’s World of Heroes and CineFix. This week it’s time to take a look at a band of mutants including a few who have yet to really make a major appearance on the big screen.

This week Hope and Faith take a little bit of a breather in a thrift store when they happen to run into an old boyfriend that doesn’t go quite the way they expect.

iZombie S:01 E:04

Episode Title: Liv and Let Clive
Original Airdate: 4-8-15

Once again Liv finds herself with another brain and another set of personality traits that also happen to help tie in with her relationship with ex-fiance Major. I have yet to talk about the naming conventions of this show yet, and while it’s not entirely prevalent with the entire cast, it’s a little bit on the nose to have an undead main character be named Liv Moore aka “live more” when she is technically living less, while her ex-fiance is Major Lilywhite and if that doesn’t scream white bread WASP-y, I don’t know what does. As for this specific episode, there’s some backstory on Detective Babineaux, some front story on Blaine, and a budding bromance between Major and Ravi. Not to mention a kung fu brawl with Liv and an Asian gang leader. All in all another fun episode with some darker subplots.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. S:02 E:16

Episode Title: Afterlife

Original Airdate: 7-4-14

It seems like Marvel’s ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is hell bent on correcting all the mistakes that they made from Season One. Titled ‘Afterlife’, this episode brings back some familiar faces, has some cool surprises and a lot of back-story about the Inhumans and how powered people before Skye live within this Marvel Cinematic Universe. Edward James Olmos’ Gonzalez also creates some ripples within his new S.H.I.E.L.D. as this episode sets the stage for the finale and we near the end of this season.

The Walking Dead Season:05

With the finale a week behind us, it’s time to take inventory of Season 5. I thought things started off very strong, on which I will expand later, but began to meander, then went insane, but came back around to an acceptable norm by the end. It was also literally all over the place. Where Season 2 was clearly “The Farm” and Season 3 was “The Prison/Woodbury,” Season 5 would be “Terminus-Church-Hospital-Road-Alexandria.” It’s not necessarily a bad thing to have the Group on the move, but it almost feels like too much was squeezed into 16 episodes, or it simply wasn’t connected strongly enough. Most particularly, the hospital.

Batman Beyond S:01 Ep:11

Episode title: Disappearing Inque

Original air date: May 8, 1999

While the last few weeks have seen the show forming a colourful rogues gallery, this week sees the return of arguably Terry’s toughest foe “Inque” who last time we saw her was turned into an ice cube and being shipped off to Gotham Cryogenics. Surprisingly the episode opens to find her still there especially when most shows will open to find the villain of the week already free and working on their latest scheme, so it makes for an interesting change for a villain to still be incarcerated when we meet them again. Batman: The Brave and the Bold S01 E10

Episode Title: “The Eyes of Despero!”

Original Air Date: February 6, 2009

In this series we usually get to see an interesting team-up between Batman and another hero, but occasionally Batman seems like a tacked on guest in his own series. This episode is one of the latter feeling like a Green Lantern Corps adventure, that just happens to have Batman in it. Continue reading Batman: The Brave and the Bold S01 E10

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends S:01 E:10

Episode Title: The Vengeance of Loki

So far, the most iconic villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been Thor’s brother, that God of Mischief himself, Loki. Today, he brings his brand of troublemaking to the animated world of Spider-Man and His Amazing friends. Of course, his heroic brother Thor comes along to help stop him in today’s episode The Vengeance of Loki.

Our story begins in the arctic where a ship has suddenly encountered a strange iceberg that shifts position every time they try to move out of the way. Of course, a collision happens and the ship starts to sink into the icy water. Meanwhile, back in New York, Iceman receives the ship’s distress call so he, Spidey and Firestar head north to help. Iceman creates an ice platform to push the ship back to the surface, however the Spider Friends get more than they bargained for since the iceberg is one of Loki’s tricks. It is an attempt by him to lure his enemy Thor into a trap. Loki is also after a magical diamond which is attached to an ancient viking ship which is frozen under the ice. He already has a duplicate jewel which, when combined with the other, will grant him great powers. Continue reading Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends S:01 E:10
