Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:09

Episode Title: For Whom the Bell Trolls
Original Airdate: September 15, 1993

When I was a kid, we learned that trolls were nasty characters…hiding under bridges and trying to eat the billie goats gruff. Then something happened and trolls became pudgy little nudists with long, pink, and very vertical hair. Well, today’s episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers features a troll, without the big hair, that dresses a bit like Buddy the Elf. Prepare yourselves for For Whom the Bell Trolls. Episode Title: DWYCK
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The most recent episode of Marvel’s Luke Cage featured almost as many sweet Christmases as it did relevant minutes. It was an episode that moved the story forward without much happening within the episode itself. Continue reading Luke Cage S:01 E:09

Episode Title: New Moon Rising

Original Air Date: May 2, 2000

Giles – “How did you get in?”

Spike – “The door was unlocked. You might want to watch that, Rupert. Someone dangerous could get in.”

Buffy – “Or, someone formerly dangerous and currently annoying.”

This week is kind of a confusing episode seeing how its more caught up in teen romance drama than any real monster action as Oz returns to Sunnydale now able to control his werewolf side thanks the spiritual quest he embarked upon at the end of “Wild At Heart” where his werewolf side saw him cheating on Willow with the female werewolf Veruca. Of course since he’s been gone things have changed leaving Tara no longer sure where her relationship with Willow now stands.

Episode Title: Go Getters
Original Airdate: 11-20-16

We’re back at Hilltop this week, catching up with Sasha, Maggie and Jesus. Maggie is still pregnant, but with a slight complication (*insert medical jargon*), for which the Hilltop doctor would like to keep her close in case of further issues. Gregory, the Hilltop’s “leader,” is completely against Maggie and Sasha staying, since they failed to take down Negan like they promised and Gregory doesn’t want the Saviors thinking he had anything to do with the attack. After getting Gregory to agree to let the ladies stay the night, Jesus promises them he will change Gregory’s mind.

Episode Title: Blowin’ Up the Spot
Originally Aired: September 30th 2016

The latest episode of Netflix’s Luke Cage picks up seconds after the end of last week’s episode, Luke bloody on the ground looking for his attacker before he passes out. It was an entertaining episode and it could lead to some exciting moments but so far, I am not impressed with the direction the show has decided to take. After just one episode, the tail of the tape when comparing snakes has Cottonmouth dominating Diamondback in every category. I think making it a personal story for Luke is a good decision if they are not ready to go down the hero for hire road. Continue reading Luke Cage S:01 E:08

There have been many movies that deal with eye monsters…from the 1958 film The Crawling Eye to Mike Wazowski in Monsters Inc. Episode Title: The Puzzles are Coming
Original Airdate: December 22, 1966

Of all the guest villains who appeared in the first season of Batman, the highlight for me was Frank Gorshin’s Riddler. He was clearly a highlight for others as well. Gorshin appeared on the show more than any other guest in the first season and he was nominated for an Emmy. But when season 2 of the show rolled around, Gorshin was unavailable due to his Vegas show. So Batman’s producers had to come up with a plan B. That included reworking a script written for the Riddler and inserting a new villain. So, enter Maurice Evans (Dr. Zaius himself) as the Puzzler in The Puzzles are Coming. Episode Title: Where The Wild Things Are

Original Air Date: April 25, 2000

“Okay, you get Fangs, I’ll get Horny. I mean…” – Buffy

It’s a sense of Deja Vu which this episode comes with as strange things are happening at Riley’s frat house / Initiative hide out while Buffy and Riley suddenly find themselves unable to keep their hands off each other. Needless to say its hardly the best time for the house to host a party either which only serves to make matters worse when all kinds of ghostly chaos is suddenly unleashed on the guests.

It’s a real meh feeling that comes with this episode as Buffy and Riley spend most of it having sex, which I’m sure back when the episode was first aired back in 2000 was much more of a big deal for us seeing how they where much more innocent times and gratuitous sex scenes where far from the norm and pornography was something you stumbled across in the woods rather than the ease of access to endless stream of smut the internet now provides. Still the cast are unquestionably sexed up this week as Anya questions the direction her relationship with Xander is heading. Willow meanwhile continues to grow closer to Tara only to find their blossoming relationship hampered by the spirits in the house.

Episode Title: Service
Original Airdate: 11-13-16

Not a lot of plot to cover with this week’s episode. Negan makes his first stop at Alexandria to take whatever he desires…and is the most obnoxious house guest ever. Aside from mattresses and other random comforts, Negan demands all the fire power Alexandria has to offer. When two guns come up missing from the armory, Negan threatens to kill Olivia, as inventory is her responsibility. Rick finds the guns hidden in Spencer’s air vents, along with food and liquor, because Spencer is a spoiled brat.
