Episode Title: Fowl Play
Original Airdate: May 2, 1994

Shows like Power Rangers are what filled the kids block programming schedules in the 90’s, but when I was a kid in the 70’s and 80’s, most of that time was filled with classic cartoons. Stuff like Popeye, Tom and Jerry, and Woody Woodpecker. Well, on this visit to Angel Grove we get a very different type of woodpecker than the classic cartoon character. It’s time for some monster bird action in Fowl Play. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:53

Episode Title: The Joke’s on Catwoman
Original Airdate: January 4, 1968

In our last episode we had a less than satisfying team up between Cesar Romero’s Joker and Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman. It was a convoluted plot involving stealing a pair of pajamas and a baby’s cradle to learn the location of some gun powder that’s been hidden for 200 years. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense. Let’s see if things get any better in part two of the story, the first episode to air in 1968, The Joke’s on Catwoman. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:17

Episode Title: Two Heads are Better than One
Original Airdate: April 29, 1994

Rita and her gang have come up with some pretty weird monsters over the course of this first Power Rangers season. Some of the creatures have at least been based off of some pretty ferocious real world animals. Every now and then, though we get one that seems to have come out of some insane acid trip. Case in point: a two-headed parrot. That’s what we get this week in Two Heads are Better than One. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:52

Episode Title: The Funny Feline Felonies
Original Airdate: December 28, 1967

Well, on our last few episodes we’ve had to deal with the bizarre team up of Olga and Egghead. I’m all for seeing some of the bad guys joining forces, but that was just kind of weird. This week we have another team-up, but this time it involves two much more iconic villains. Get ready for Joker and Catwoman working together in The Funny Feline Felonies. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:16

Episode Title: Grumble Bee
Original Airdate: April 28, 1994

When you’re a kid there’s nothing more terrifying than bees. Who cares about whatever good they may do…all that matters is that they’ve got stingers and they ain’t afraid to use them. The citizens of Angel Grove are about to feel the sting, so to speak, as Rita unleashes a new monster known as the Grumble Bee in today’s episode called, oddly enough, Grumble Bee. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:51

Episode Title: The Ogg Couple
Original Airdate: December 21, 1967

Greetings citizens of Gotham! Before we begin this week’s episode, I want to apologize for being a bit behind on the reviews lately. Not only have I been traveling a lot for work lately, but I’ve also been horribly sick the whole time. I’m finally on the mend, though, so it’s time to get back on track. This week we see the return of that unlikely pair of Egghead (Vincent Price) and Olga, Queen of the Cossacks (Anne Baxter). They are up to no good again in this week’s episode, The Ogg Couple. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:15

Episode Title: Catwoman’s Dressed to Kill
Original Airdate: December 14, 1967

Over the course of the last two and half seasons, we have seen a few times where a famous role was recast. Remember last season we had the role of the Riddler briefly taken over by John Astin when Frank Gorshin was unavailable. We’ve also seen three different actors play the part of Mr. Freeze. But our episode today gives us what may be the biggest casting change the series ever saw. Julie Newmar originated the role of Catwoman on this series, and her performance is iconic. Just as iconic, though, is season three’s version of the character, taken over for a handful of episodes by the one and only Eartha Kitt. Here she is in Catwoman’s Dressed to Kill. Episode Title: Return of an Old Friend part 2
Original Airdate: March 1, 1994

So…when we left Angel Grove, the Power Rangers had been tricked out of their power coins by Goldar and what do they have to show for it? Their parents are still trapped in the dark dimension and there is no way to get them out. However, they realize that there is one power coin left, the one that had belonged to Tommy. Episode Title: The Bloody Tower
Original Airdate: December 7, 1967

Well, it’s time to wrap up the Caped Crusaders’ adventure in Londinium. Considering how lackluster the first two episodes of this story were, I think we’re all pretty anxious to get back stateside. But first, Batgirl, who has been captured by Lord Ffogg (Rudy Vallee) and Lady Peasoup (Glynis Johns), needs saving. Let’s see what happens in the conclusion of our British adventure, The Bloody Tower. Continue reading Batman S:03 E:13

Episode Title: Return of an Old Friend Part 1
Original Airdate: February 28, 1994

Over the course of the last 40+ episode of Power Rangers there is one big question I’ve had, “don’t these kids have parents?” I mean think about it, giant monsters attack Angel Grove left and right, yet we’ve never seen any sign of parental units for any of our five teenage heroes. We’ve seen plenty of uncles, but no actual parents. That changes now in today’s episode, Return of an Old Friend part 1. Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers S:01 E:49
