Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:03 Ep:04

Episode Title: Beauty and the Beasts

Original Air Date: October 20, 1998

“We’re doing crime! You don’t sneak up during crime!” – Xander

Time for another favourite and arguably the best episode of this season, which is kinda worrying seeing how we are only four episodes into the season but here we get one of the rarer Oz-centric episodes as the Scoobie’s resident werewolf is accused of being responsible of brutally attacking a Sunnydale High student in the woods.

Episode Title: Welcome to Earth 2
Original Airdate: 2-9-16

We finally get to see Earth 2 in all its glory and it ended up being a wish fulfillment episode in the worst and best way possible. Like the best episodes, Earth 2 brought along some of the best laughs along with some really gut wrenching moments and ended on quite a bit of a cliffhanger as well as giving us some surprising information about Jay Garrick that paints his character in a whole different light.

Episode Title: Faith, Hope and Trick

Original Air Date: October 13, 1998

“Giles, there are two things that I don’t believe in: coincidence and leprechauns.” – Buffy

This week sees the start of some major changes in the Buffy universe as outlined by the episode title which essentially names the three characters who debut here (Faith, Scott Hope, Mr. Trick) and in doing so each bring their own element to the Buffy universe.

The most major of the three of these of course being the arrival of the new slayer “Faith” whose impact on the Buffy-verse will later flow not into the “Angel” spin off but also the comic books aswell with “Angel and Faith” she received her calling following the death of Kendra and now arrives in Sunnydale keen to meet Buffy while her watcher is away at a watcher’s retreat in England while being pursued by the ancient vampire Kakistos.

Agent Carter S:02 E:04

Episode Title: Smoke and Mirrors
Originally Aired: February 2nd 2016

Ever since her first appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger, Peggy Carter has been well established in one organization or another and always extremely capable. Who was Peggy Carter before World War II and how did she become the fearsome agent we know her as. In tonight’s episode we begin to get answers to these questions through a series of flashbacks that contrast the origin of Peggy to that of Whitney Frost. Legends of Tomorrow S:01 E:02

Episode Title: Pilot part 2
Original Airdate: 1-28-2016

After getting over some of the exposition moments of the first half of the pilot, the second half left room for all the rest of the action and coming together as a team. There was one semi-spoiler moment that shouldn’t really be too surprising if you’ve been paying attention to all the marketing materials for the show. But in general, it seems like it’s bringing together some of the best parts of both Arrow and Flash using none of their major characters. Which is really an impressive feat once you think about it. There were a few roadbumps, especially if you start comparing it to other superhero properties, but overall it’s working for me.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer S:03 Ep:02

“Didn’t anyone ever warn you about playing with pointy sticks? It’s all fun and games until somebody loses an eye.” – Buffy

Next to vampires might just be one the most over worked of the horror sub-genres, especially when every week there seems to be a new low budget zombie movie thrown out direct to DVD, so needless to the prospect of having Buffy face off against the zombie hordes this week was hardly a thrilling one.

Continuing on from the events of the previous episode, this episode essentially picks up directly after the season opener with Buffy struggling still to adjust to life back in Sunnydale as her mom still feels that she might run off again. At the same time the Xander and Willow appeared to have moved on without her. Of course she doesn’t have time to dwell for long when the mysterious mask her mother has brought back from her gallery has the nasty side effect of reanimating the dead.

Episode Title: The Reverse-Flash Returns
Original Airdate: 1-27-2016

So the Reverse-Flash came back, it wasn’t the very next day but they did think he was a goner. I guess he just couldn’t stay away. Or since I’d gotten used to Tom Cavanagh I kind of like to think of this Reverse-Flash as High School Alf (Hsalf) but that’s neither here nor there. This episode is really more just about tying up some loose ends and giving Cisco a bit more to do. Not only that, but they really set him up to be. But more than that, it’s about saying goodbye. While I had hoped that this would be the episode to tie up the loose ends of the timeline, it really just pulls the string a little farther out so it can be tied up in the near future.
