Agent Carter S:02 E:08 and 09

Episode Title: Episode 8 The Edge Of Mystery Episode 9: A Little Song and Dance
Originally Aired: February 23rd 2016

Agent Carter is the best comic book show that “no one” is watching, this could be due to the fact that it is only superhero adjacent instead of focused on them like the more popular shows. It could be a result of an average first season. Whatever the reason someone has for not watching season 2 it is really unfortunate, even on a night when they didn’t put their best foot forward Agent Carter is still performing well above average this year.

Jessica Jones Season 1 Round-Up

So here it is, my final round-up for the first series of Jessica Jones. First thing to say, it’s been great reviewing the show for Channel Superhero, I hope to continue doing reviews for the site in the future. As I stated in the first of these reviews, I had no knowledge of Jessica Jones prior to watching the show, although I’ve been making myself aware of the history of the character as I’ve been watching the show. I always think that the strength in anything based on a comic character is that it should make you want to keep watching even if you’ve never heard of the character and I have to say that Jessica Jones has more than succeeded. This is easily better than the first season of Daredevil in terms of the Marvel Netflix shows and I have to say, it’s one of the best parts of the Marvel Cinematic Universe thus far. Arrow S:04 E:14

Episode Title: Code of Silence
Original Airdate: 2-17-16

This season started off rough for Arrow. Instead of building up the rivalry between Oliver and company vs. Damien Darhk and HIVE far too much time was devoted to being used as a springboard for the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off.

And even then it took a while for the season to find its footing. This week was another indicator that the season is on an upwards trend as the season is getting to the nitty gritty and delivering on its promising beginning. Continue reading Arrow S:04 E:14

Agent Carter S:02 E:06 and E:07

Episode Titles: Episode 6: Life of the Party Episode 7: Monsters
Originally Aired: February 16th 2016

Last night’s episodes of Agent Carter were a major turning point for the season. If this was a movie it would be the end of the second act where our heroes have sustained losses or been beaten back and need to regroup for a final assault on the bad guys. There are only 3 episodes left this season, another 2 hour event next week followed by the season and potentially series finale.

Jessica Jones S:01 E:13

Episode Title: AKA Smile

Original Air Date: 11/20/2015

Jessica and Luke get help from someone else in the neighbourhood. Kilgrave gears up for a major test of his powers against Jessica.

So here we are, the final episode of Jessica Jones. Have to say it’s been a great series so far but if they didn’t stick the landing, the work of the rest of the show would have been for naught and I’m pleased to say this is another incredibly strong episode of the show. Batman S:01 E:27

Episode Title: The Curse of Tut
Original Airdate: April 13, 1966

I have two big memories from the year 1977, when I was six years old. First, of course, was going to see Star Wars. Second was seeing the Treasures of Tutankhamun at the Field Museum in Chicago. The King Tut exhibit was a cultural phenomenon in its own right. Millions of people lined up to see the exhibit. In fact, the first time my parents and I went to go see the exhibit we had to turn back because the line was out the front door of the museum and down the block. I even had a T-Shirt with a picture of the famous gold Tut mask that said “Tut Nut.” It turns out, though, that a decade before King Tut took over Chicago, he tried to take over Gotham City in today’s episode of Batman…The Curse of Tut. Episode Title: The Atomic Job
Originally Aired: February 9th 2016

Atomic bombs, corporate espionage and mobsters, oh my, all of these things play a pivotal role in tonight’s episode of Agent Carter. The episode is full of danger not only for our main characters but all of Los Angeles and maybe even the world.

Arrow S:04 E:12

Episode Title: Unchained
Original Airdate: 2-3-16

Season 4 continued its roller coaster ride with another episode filled with some great highs and some confusing, unnecessary lows. It’s been the tale of this season and there’s no getting around it at this point so it’s best to just accept what works and not get too worried about the mistakes that have carried through for most of the year.
