Episode Title: Fight For Your Right!
Original Airdate: 10-16-2013
Welcome back to another episode of the webseries We Might Be Superheroes where we continue our conversation where we left off last week. As always, if you can’t wait to check out the rest of the episodes, visit their official website. This week Hope and Faith fight their way through a personal argument between themselves, though it’s not exactly what you might think it is at first.
Channel Superhero: What are the biggest challenges with the fight choreography on a webseries like this?
Rica de Ocampo: For me, the challenge is time. Big fight sequences take a lot of time to choreograph and perfect. Daria and I had a number of rehearsals for the fight scene in the Troya episode. During that time we did a lot of experimenting: what would work, what would read on camera and what we should just keep out. (I keep trying to get a guillotine choke in but I haven’t won yet!)
Sometimes we have fight sequences that are put together on the fly and these seem to be more difficult, simply because we don’t have enough time to make it look flawless or to come up with the most creative ways to take down the baddies. Of course they come out perfect for the, “60’s Batman style” that we model our show after.
