Webseries: Bad Days S:01 E:01

Episode Title: Spider-Man
Original Airdate: 10-8-12

Welcome to another Webseries Spotlight where you don’t just have to read about the shows we cover here, but you can actually watch them. This time around I’m featuring an animated webseries from Klomp Animation based out of the Netherlands about superheroes having a bad day, appropriately called Bad Days. Like with We Might Be Superheroes we will be sharing an episode, a part of our conversation with lead animator and co-founder Junaid Chundrigar, and some behind the scenes pictures each week every Thursday. But if you can’t wait, feel free to check out the rest of the webseries at Stan Lee’s World of Heroes and CineFix. The series starts off with Marvel’s poster child who has recently come back into the cinematic fold, Spider-Man.

Channel: Superhero: There’s quite a few characters that are shown as very different versions of their better known selves, is there any one that got a lot more negative feedback from fans who didn’t like how they were shown in the cartoons?

Junaid Chundrigar: There are always people who just want to see their favorite superheroes as serious buff muscular guys and can’t take it if they’re drawn in a more goofy cartoony way. I think the one that surprised me the most was our “Doctor Who” episode. A lot of Who fans said we were making fun of the show and even though that is true, it was also meant as a sort of a tribute to the Doctor Who show of the past few years. If we’re making fun of something, it doesn’t automatically mean that we don’t like it.
